The Panama national football team represents Panama in international football. The team is controlled by the governing body for football in Panama, Panamanian Football Federation, which is a member of CONCACAF and the regional UNCAF. Panama finished as runners-up in the 2005 Gold Cup and 2013 Gold Cup. Panama reached the fourth round for the 2006 World Cup CONCACAF qualifications.
This Team also advanced to the fourth round for the 2014 World Cup qualifications. At their last qualification match against the USA, they were about 90 seconds away from beating the US and advancing to play-offs, but they conceded two goals in stoppage time and were eliminated from qualification.
The Team followed that up with a 4-0 thrashing of Cuba as the Canaleros scored four minutes into the match and never looked back. Both matches were played in The Team, as chosen by CONCACAF because Panama was the highest ranked of the teams in the playoff.
All 10 South American teams automatically qualified for Copa America Centenario. The United States and Mexico were also named automatic qualifiers, then Costa Rica qualified as Copa Centroamericana champions and Jamaica as Caribbean Cup winners. That left two places open, which were determined by taking the four highest finishers from the 2015 Gold Cup not yet qualified and having them play in Friday’s playoff.

Panama 2016 Copa America Kit
Based on the same template as the away kit, the new Team 2016 shirt is red with a bold white stripe on the left side, with two thinner blue stripes next to it. In line with the “limited edition” theme, the New Balance logo, placed on the right chest of the Panama 2016 Copa America kit, is gold-colored.
2016 Copa America Away Kit
Predominantly white, the new Team away kit features a stripe design that incorporates the striking colors of the flag of The Nation on the left chest, underneath the federation crest. Positioned on the right chest of the new Panama 2016 away shirt is the iconic NB logo which the brand is coloring gold on all of its 2016 Copa America shirts to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the competition’s inauguration.
